As one of Cumbria's premier visitor attractions, the Rheged Centre is proud to present a whole host of daytime and evening events from live streaming opera, theatre and ballet directly from the West End on to our giant screen, arts and culture events and exhibitions, as well as activities for children and families, a unique shopping experience and of course a wide range of food available in our eateries.

We are looking for a Christmas elf to help deliver a magical Santa experience at Rheged. We are looking for a lively, enthusiastic, friendly character that will enjoy working with children. You must be able to work in a fast pace environment and deliver great customer service at all times. You will be provided with a full elf costume which you will need to wear for the duration of your shift. You are creating a magical memory for all the children at Rheged, this role would suit someone looking to share the Christmas cheer.

Main duties include-

Managing the queue to see Santa,

Assisting Santa with presents,

Restocking the activity station,

Assisting children with crafts,

Communicate wait times and managing customer's expectations.


This is a temporary, part-time role working 16 hours per week over 2 shifts, mainly Saturday and Sunday 9am - 5.30pm.  The contract starts with a training session on Saturday 10th November from 9am - 11am with normal weekend shifts commencing on Saturday 17th November. The last weekend before Christmas will also include Friday 21st December and Monday 24th December which is when the contract will come to an end.  Happy to offer flexibility dependant upon the number of successful candidates.

We have won awards for our Gallery and we have the largest cinema screen north of Manchester, where we screen some of the newest release films daily.
